Monochromatic

January 10, 2012

There’s something to be said for monochromatic looks. There’s also something to be said for these amazing J Brand velvet jeans that I picked up at Lyla a few weeks ago. I’ve been wearing them endlessly since I first picked them up. The inky blue color is stunning and they go with just about everything. Creating a monochromatic look is pretty easy and always makes for a chic result. All black is an easy starting point that we’ve all fallen back on when pressed for time or felt that we were lacking in sartorial creativity. When creating a monochromatic look pick a starting piece and build from there. Then, pick some other pieces with the same colour tone. You can have a lot of fun coordinating the outfit. Just remember that they don’t all have the be the same exact shade of the colour.

I enjoy long walks through Neiman Marcus, red soled shoes, skinny black pants, oversized cocktail rings, obnoxious bows, nipped waists and full skirts.

Who else was obsessed with the @balenciaga City Ba Who else was obsessed with the @balenciaga City Bag in the early aughts ? I fell in love with it thanks to British It-Girls Kate Moss and Sienna Miller, it was such an “It Bag” and I had to have it. Its popularity might have been eclipsed by quite a few other styles, but I still find myself reaching for mine. 📸 by @brightcutmedia #balenciagacity #balenciagacitybag #bragmybag #itbags #outfitdetails #bagloverscommunity
